ICE-TCS Lectures Series - Anisse Kasraoui - Classification of Mahonian maj-inv statistics
The next ICE-TCS talk for this semester will be delivered on Friday, 6 November, by Anisse Kasraoui (Reykjavik University). The talk, entitled Classification of Mahonian maj-inv statistics, will be held in room K5 at Reykjavík University (Kringlan 1) from 14:00 till 15:00.
Anisse recently joined the Combinatorics group within the School of Computer Science at RU and ICE-TCS.

Abstract
Two well-known Mahonian statistics on words are the inversion number and the major index. In 1996, Foata and Zeilberger introduced generalizations, parametrized by relations, of these statistics. We study the statistics which can be written as a sum of these generalized statistics. In particular, we characterize all such statistics which are Mahonian.
