A Research Roadmap
Fyrirlesturinn verður haldinn miðvikudaginn 18. ágúst kl. 16:00 í húsnæði Háskólans í Reykjavík í Nauthólsvík í Fönix 3 (stofu M1.09).
Dr. Keliang Zhou received his Ph.D degree from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2002. He received his B.E. degree from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan in 1992 and the M.E. degree from Wuhan University of Transportation, Wuhan in 1995.Since 2006, he has been with the School of Electrical Engineering, Southeast University, Nanjing. Currently, he is a full professor. His research interests include power electronics and motion control, advanced control and its applications, and renewable energy generation.
Abstract:
Electrical Engineering is facing the challenges of energy crisis and sustainable development. Energy conversion technology plays a critical role in the development of the electrical engineering. Power electronics, control, devices, electrical drives and machines are key enabling technologies for realizing excellent energy conversion solutions in many application areas. This report will present my current research on the development of better energy conversion technology, which involves advanced control (especially internal model principle based control) of power conversion for better power quality, better renewable energy generation technology (including hybrid energy storage, topology and control of VSC-HVDC for wind farms, high frequency link grid-tied inverter), and some other technologies (such as vehicle to grid, new PM motor drive, ride through capability of wind farm, iterative learning control). A brief introduction of available research resources is also given, which include facilities, funding, research team. Finally future research plan and vision are outlined.
