Dr. Sverrir Ólafsson, prófessor við viðskiptadeild Háskólans í Reykjavík, hefur verið gerður að gestaprófessor við Queen Mary University of London. Sverrir stundar rannsóknir með vísindamönnum við School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, aðallega á eiginleikum stórra flókinna kerfa þ.á m. þráðlausra samskiptaneta og fjármálakerfisins. Aðaltilgangur rannsóknanna er að auka skilning okkar á þeim almennu skilyrðum sem gera flókin kerfi óstöðug og geta því stuðlað að breytingum sem gera kerfin óstarfshæf.

Sverrir Olafsson appointed a Visiting Professor with the University of London
Dr. Sverrir Ólafsson Professor in the School of Business at Reykjavík University has been made a Visiting Professor at Queen Mary University of London. Sverrir is presently co-operating with researchers within the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science on studying the stability and scalability properties of large dynamic systems such as wireless communication systems and the financial system. The main focus is investigating the generic conditions under which systems become unstable or make a transition to stable but low-performing states.
