An aerodynamic performance and laminar separation of a flow is investigated on RU‘s flapping wing at gliding flight conditions using computational fluid dynamic . For this project five different turbulent models were applied on three different wings in similar conditions. Two of the wing analysis are intended for model validation, by comparing them to experimental data of aerodynamic performance and the formation of laminar separation bubbles which heavily affect the aerodynamic performance. The third analysis is performed on the RU‘s flapping wing (pre-designed wing of an ornithopter) which had unknown aerodynamic performance. The kω-SST Low Reynolds turbulent model gives acceptable agreement to the experimental data.
