MSc project defence (30 ECTS)- Ragnar Stefánsson-Department of Computer Science.

On Wednesday the 13th of July at 13:00, room M104, Ragnar Stefánsson will defend his master project (30 ECTS).

  • 13.7.2022, 13:00 - 14:00, Háskólinn í Reykjavík

Abstract: We use player behavioural data to predict when a player that has already made a purchase in the past might make another purchase and we then predict churn for that player. E.g. using behavioural patterns to figure out why a purchasing player eventually leaves the game after investing real money and huge amount of time into the game to then ultimately stop playing the game altogether, which results in lost revenues for the games company. By finding these patterns we are able incentivize players that show patterns of becoming churners to continue playing, which can lead to more revenue being generated.
