Title: New Challenges for Cyber Security and Cyber Forensics
Abstract: In this lecture we will introduce recent developments in
- Cybersecurity,
- Cybercrime,
- Cyber forensics,
- Internet of Things (IoT).
The Internet of Things is growing explosively, as is the number of crimes committed against or using computers and things in the internet. As a response to the growth of cybercrime, the field of cyber forensics has emerged.
The aim of this keynote presentation is to give an overview of the new developments in Cybersecurity and Cyber Forensics in the emerging area of the Internet of Things and to show the problems and new challenges for the future work.
Dealing with these new technologies imply a lot of new and challenging problems for users, administrators, legal experts, and cyber forensic investigators.
In order to effectively combat and control the cybercrime, the crucial precondition to solve those problems is to study how to quickly and efficiently collect evidences which can be accorded with legal requirements.
Cyber forensics involves carefully collecting and examining electronic evidence that not only assesses the damage to a computer or a connected thing as a result of a cyberattack, but also to recover lost information from such a system to prosecute a criminal. With the growing importance of computer security today and the seriousness of cyber crime, it is important for computer professionals to understand the technology that is used in cyber forensics.
