Dr. Hallur Þór Sigurðarson promoted to Assocatiate Professor at the Department of Business and Economics at the Department of Busienss and Economics

Dr. Hallur Þór Sigurðarson has been promoted to Associate Professor at the Department of Business and Economics following the recommendation of an academic evaluation committee.

The committee finds that Dr. Hallur Þór Sigurðarson has established himself as an independent scholar. He has a substantial number of publications, is an experienced teacher and has held various teaching roles and responsibilities at Reykjavik University. He has also contributed to service in various capacities.

Hallur specializes in entrepreneurship and organization studies. His recent research has, among other things, focused on the interplay between entrepreneurship and the arts and on the use of artificial intelligence in the public sector. 

Hallur holds a PhD in entrepreneurship and management studies from Copenhagen Business School and a master’s degree in management and philosophy from the same university. He has worked at Reykjavik University for nearly a decade and during that time has also been a visiting researcher at the University of Queensland and Copenhagen Business School.

The committee was formed by Dr. Ender Demir, Professor at the Department of Business and Economics at Reykjavik University, Iceland, chair of the committee, Dr. Berit Hartmann, Associate Professor at the Department of Business Administration at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden and Dr. Þröstur Olaf Sigurjónsson, Professor at the Faculty of Business Administration at the University of Iceland.
