Helga Kristín Biering Auðunsdóttir appointed to a new position as Director of Legal Education

A new position, Director of Legal Education, has been established at the Department of Law at Reykjavík University, and Helga Kristín Biering Auðunsdóttir has been appointed to the role. The appointment is intended to further strengthen the organisation of teaching and learning within the department and to support the continued development of legal education at the university, alongside the department's dean.

The Director of Legal Education will lead the development and coordination of legal education, oversee the quality of teaching and learning, and support the ongoing development of study programs within the department.

Helga Kristín is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Law at Reykjavík University. She holds a PhD in Law from Fordham University and an LL.M. from the University of Miami. She also completed a BSc in Business Law and a Master’s degree in Law at Bifröst University. Her academic areas of specialisation include corporate governance, company law, sustainability, and the regulatory framework for financial institutions.

Helga Kristín has taught law since 2009, both in Iceland and in the United States, and brings nearly two decades of experience in teaching and academic work in the field. She also has extensive experience in legal education development, teaching methods, and quality assurance, and has played an important role in shaping and advancing legal education in both national and international contexts.
