Employees
Support for employees depends on whether the intellectual property in question can be utilised with a licence (Licence Process) or the establishment of a start-up company (Start-up Process). This can also go together.
Students
Reykjavik University does not claim ownership of intellectual property that students develop independently during their studies. The university encourages students to become entrepreneurs and have a positive social impact! Below is a list of the support students can receive in developing business ideas and starting a business:
- Innovation courses at RU, e.g. Entrepreneurship and Start-up Ventures.
- Facilities: SERES RU Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre. Students can apply for facilities.
- Advice from KLAK: RU is one of the owners of KLAK. KLAK runs 3-4 innovation accelerators annually and advises RU students on how to follow the innovation path.
- Advice from an expert at the University Office, e.g. on intellectual property law.
- Advice from SFHR's Sproti, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Committee
- Innovation competitions: RU is a sponsor of Golden Egg and Startup Social.
