Final Exams During the Exam Period – Important Rules
Certain rules apply during final exams regarding communication, identification, permitted materials, and more. The Office of Student Registry and Assessment would like to especially draw students’ attention to the following:
Exam rooms generally open for students 15 minutes prior to the exam's start time.
- Students must present valid photo identification, such as a driver’s license or passport.
- The use of smart devices and communication tools is strictly prohibited in the exam room. Make sure to turn them off or set them to airplane mode. Communication with other students or individuals outside the exam room is not allowed during the exam.
- Label all answer sheets with your name/student number and request additional sheets if needed.
- Students are not allowed to use any materials other than those specified by the instructor.
- It is prohibited to remove any part of the exam materials from the exam room.
- Students are not allowed to leave the exam room until at least one hour of the exam time has passed. Electronic exams are on-site exams and must be taken in the designated room at Reykjavík University unless otherwise instructed by the teacher.
- Violations of the above may result in expulsion from the exam or course, as applicable, and may lead to penalties in accordance with the rules on study and assessment at Reykjavík University. Further provisions regarding exams can be found in the Rules on Study and Assessment at Reykjavík University.
