A conference organised by the Department of Law at RU and CENTENOL

A conference organised by the Department of Law at Reykjavík University and CENTENOL was held on Friday, 20 November, focusing on EEA social security law.

The main purpose of the conference was to enhance knowledge and examine current practice by bringing together academics in the field of EEA social security law and legal professionals who work with these issues in their daily roles.

Representatives from the Social Insurance Administration, the Welfare Appeals Committee, the Ombudsman of Alþingi, the Health Insurance Administration, and Registers Iceland took part in the event, along with distinguished scholars from Norway, the United Kingdom, and Iceland.

The conference was fully booked and was considered highly successful.

CENTENOL is a research centre established by the Department of Law at the University of Bergen in 2023. Since then, Dr Gunnar Þór Pétursson, Dean of the Department of Law, and Dr Margrét Einarsdóttir, Professor at the Department of Law, have formally participated in the institution’s research activities.
