Antonis Achilleos, PhD, has been promoted to Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science at Reykjavik University following the recommendation of an academic evaluation committee.

Antonis has made foundational contributions to formal methods, especially in Runtime Verification, combining deep theoretical insight with rigorous technical work. His research has clarified the limits of monitorability and influenced the field through both expressive specifications and operational perspectives.

He brings extensive teaching experience from RU, as well as NTUA and CUNY, and has a strong record of academic service, including conference organization and committee work.

The committee, formed by Magnús Már Halldórsson (chair), Orna Kupferman, a professor at Hebrew University, and Kim Guldstrand Larsen, a professor at Aalborg University, unanimously agreed that Antonis meets all the promotion criteria for an associate professor laid out by the Department of Computer Science at Reykjavik University and strongly recommends his promotion.
