Guðmundur Kristjánsson has been promoted to the position of Senior Lecturer in the Department of Applied Engineering at Reykjavík University.

The promotion committee consisted of Dr Haraldur Auðunsson, Associate Professor in the School of Engineering at Reykjavík University; Dr Michael Shannon Moorhead, Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Engineering at Reykjavík University; and Dr Kristinn Andersen, Professor in the School of Engineering at the University of Iceland.

Guðmundur has played a key role in developing the study programmes in applied electrical engineering and has served as programme director since 2019. He has taught numerous courses at the undergraduate and diploma levels, in addition to supervising students in final projects in engineering technology and master’s programmes in engineering.

He is actively involved in a variety of projects related to teaching, both within Reykjavík University and in collaborative initiatives such as the CDIO project on engineering education, Nordplus cooperation, and the International Graduate Student Research Cohort, where participants carry out research projects presented at the Arctic Circle Assembly.
