Department of Sport Science at Reykjavik University and SÁÁ Sign Collaboration Agreement
Hafrún Kristjánsdóttir, Head of the Department of Sport Science, on behalf of Reykjavik University, and Anna Hildur Guðmundsdóttir, Chair of SÁÁ, have signed a collaboration agreement.

The agreement involves graduate students in Sport Sciences at RU researching how structured physical activity can influence the treatment of individuals with addiction disorders. The activities will include both strength and flexibility exercises that can be performed indoors, as well as outdoor walks and runs in nature. Alongside this, general education will be provided to the group about physical activity and its importance.
In addition, various measurements will be conducted at different stages of the program during which the exercise sessions take place. The graduate students will use the data collected from their research as material for their master’s theses. Another objective of the research is to develop a scientific article based on the findings, in collaboration with staff from RU and SÁÁ.
