Rarik Joins Collaboration Network of Reykjavík University and MIT
Rarik has joined the collaboration network of Reykjavík University (RU) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston. Through this partnership, the company gains privileged access to MIT’s extensive knowledge base.
For years, RU has maintained a successful collaboration with MIT, which includes offering selected Icelandic companies the opportunity to become part of the RU–MIT network.
Hrafntinna Viktoría Karlsdóttir, Project Manager for Industry Relations at RU, highlighted the benefits for Icelandic companies:
One of the most valuable aspects of the partnership is the direct lines of communication. Participants can request tailored meetings with MIT academics through us, and such meetings can often mark the beginning of fruitful collaboration. In addition, companies can attend MIT conferences without paying registration fees.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Ólafur Eysteinn Sigurjónsson, Dean of RU’s School of Technology and Vice Rector of Research, Innovation and Industry Collaboration, and Magnús Þór Ásmundsson, CEO of Rarik.
For companies, participation in the network means that all employees gain access to a wealth of educational material, research, and podcasts. Staff can attend MIT-hosted online training and events, as well as lectures and organised workshops in Iceland. Visits to MIT have also been arranged, featuring workshops, meetings, and lectures.

Kristín Soffía Jónsdóttir, Director of Business Development at Rarik, emphasised the importance of the collaboration:
We are delighted to become part of this network. The ability to access knowledge and expertise within MIT in such an accessible way is of great value to us. This collaboration provides a unique opportunity to connect with one of the world’s most prestigious universities and to draw on learning that supports and strengthens our operations.
