What will you learn?

Students study sports management from several perspectives, including legal, ethical, financial, organisational, historical, political, and psychological. The industry is quickly expanding, and people in charge of sports face increasingly demanding professional standards.

With a dual master's degree in Exercise Science and Sport Management from RU and Molde, students receive the necessary preparation to hold management positions in sports organisations and other sports-related areas.

Students spend their first year of study at the University of Molde. The second year of study takes place at RU.

Students will learn the theoretical basis of quantitative and qualitative methodologies and grasp solid knowledge of training and sports physiology's main concepts and theories. They will understand the primary measurements to assess athletes' training status and progress in sports and be well-versed in the organisation, management, and strategy of training and sports activities.
Information regarding the management part of the programme can be found on the website of the University of Molde: Master of Science in Sport Management

How will you learn?

The first year, taught in Molde, aims to introduce students to sport management's basic concepts and practical aspects. Sports managers' interactions are discussed in a broad context of the economic, political, and social environment that influences various decisions. It is taught in English.

During the second year taught at Reykjavík University, students focus on classroom learning and completing a research project. Students take compulsory courses in psychological training, performance analysis, statistics and methodology, measurement and training of children, and how to maximise performance through training based on physiology, training, psychology, nutrition, technology and organisation.
