The lunch seminar is organised by SIF - Sustainability Institute and Forum, with the support of the Association of Chartered Engineers in Iceland. It is a part of the Day of sustainability at Reykjavik University.

Climate change is reshaping the risk landscape for critical infrastructure worldwide, and Iceland is no exception. From hydropower systems, geothermal operations, and electricity transmission to broader societal resilience, organisations must increasingly prepare for both gradual change and systemic uncertainty — including extreme weather, natural hazards, and emerging large-scale risks such as shifts in ocean circulation patterns like AMOC.

This lunch seminar brings together international academic insight, Icelandic industry perspectives, and national climate leadership to explore how society can move beyond traditional risk awareness toward resilience, adaptation, and responsible long-term decision-making. Through keynote input, stakeholder reflections, and panel discussion, the seminar will examine how Iceland can strengthen infrastructure, governance, and sustainability under changing climatic conditions.
