Dual Degrees
Study at Two Universities. Graduate with Two Degrees.
Expand your MSc experience through an international dual degree pathway. Eligible Iceland School of Energy students can combine their studies at Reykjavík University with study and research at one of our partner universities abroad, completing the requirements for a master’s degree from each institution.
Dual degree places are limited and subject to the academic and admission requirements of both universities.

How a Dual Degree Works
Students begin in an eligible master’s programme and apply for the relevant dual degree pathway during their studies. The exact study plan depends on the partner agreement, but students normally complete part of their degree at each university and undertake thesis or research work connected to both institutions.

Is a Dual Degree Right for You?
Tuition, Travel and Living Costs
Tuition arrangements depend on the student’s home institution and the applicable dual degree agreement. Students should also plan for travel, accommodation, insurance, residence requirements and other living expenses associated with studying abroad.
How to Apply
You do not need to select a dual degree when first applying to an ISE master’s programme. Start by applying to the MSc programme that matches your academic background.
Once enrolled, eligible students can discuss the relevant dual degree pathway with ISE and apply according to the requirements and timetable of the partner agreement. Admission to an ISE programme does not automatically guarantee admission to a dual degree.
