Anna Sigríður Islind appointed to the board of Landspítali
Anna Sigríður Islind, PhD in computer science and a professor in the Department of Computer Science at Reykjavik University, has been appointed to the board of Landspítali University Hospital for the next two years.
In a statement from the Ministry of Health, Minister of Health Alma D. Möller said that the appointment of the new board would provide an important connection with Reykjavík University and other institutions.
Anna Sigríður has worked at RU since 2018. She specializes in the design, development, and use of digital health technology solutions and artificial intelligence in healthcare. Anna Sigríður says it is a tremendous honor to have the opportunity to contribute to the important work of Landspítali through her position on the board, and she is grateful for the trust placed in her through her appointment to the board.
Anna Sigríður is a highly productive scientist. She has led or participated in major research projects in her field and has published nearly 150 peer-reviewed scientific papers. She has worked in research and teaching since 2011, first in Sweden and then at RU.

“Her collaboration with the healthcare sector has had a wide-ranging impact both within and outside RU, including through a new specialist training program for healthcare professionals at Landspítali, where artificial intelligence and health sciences intersect,” the ministry’s statement read.
