EXSIM Week in full swing at the Executive MBA at Reykjavík University
This week, our EMBA Class 2025 is stepping into the C-suite in the IESE Executive Simulation (EXSIM): a full-time, week-long business simulation that brings the entire EMBA learning journey to life.
Six teams are taking charge of their own companies and making critical decisions across all business functions: strategy, marketing, operations, supply chain, HR, and finance. The pressure is on as they compete for the best results while navigating real-world dynamics.
Throughout the week, students are challenged to:
- Translate strategy into measurable results
- Collaborate under pressure and manage complexity
- Respond quickly and effectively to unexpected external events
- Lead with clarity, integrity, and purpose
Each team faces demanding sessions with their Board of Directors, negotiates with union representatives, and pitches to bankers—all portrayed by professionals from the Icelandic business community, adding real-world depth and authenticity to the experience.
EXSIM is more than a simulation—it's a powerful, hands-on experience that puts everything our students have learned into practice.
It also reflects the heart of the RU Executive MBA mission: to develop responsible leaders who will have a positive influence on business and society.
