Plútó kaffi at Reykjavik University: “We wanted to build a cozy, welcoming spot”

Plútó kaffi has opened in Sólin at Reykjavik University. The café is new and offers hot drinks, breakfast bowls, bagels, and other baked goods. Aisuluu Shatmanova is the founder of Plútó kaffi and a trained pastry chef.

Aisuluu has worked as a pastry chef for the past decade at Omnom, Sandholt, Moss at the Blue Lagoon, and Slippurinn. She has also studied business administration at RU, but is currently on academic leave to focus entirely on running Plútó kaffi.

“We just wanted to build a cozy, welcoming spot where everyone on campus—teachers, university teams, and students—can come to enjoy good coffee, bagels and pastries.

Plútó also loves being part of campus life, so we are hiring students for part-time jobs to help us run the place. Currently, Justus—an exchange student from Germany—is our barista!” Aisuluu says.

She says there are several things in the pipeline at Plútó kaffi, including menu changes and special offers. You can keep up to date through the Plútó kaffi Instagram account.
