Prospective students try out studying at RU

Háskóladagurinn 2026, The University Day, was held at Reykjavik University on Saturday 28th of February and was well attended. The day offered an opportunity to explore the building and its unique facilities on a guided tour, to get a glimpse of studying at RU during introductory lessons, and to talk to current students, teachers, and student and career counsellors.

This is one of the best days of the year for us at RU, as there is little we enjoy more than welcoming people and introducing them to the outstanding work taking place at the university. Attendance was strong, and it is clear that many students are beginning to consider their next steps. The open classes were especially popular, and it was evident that people appreciate the opportunity to try out different fields and better understand where their interests lie. Next, we are heading to Ísafjörður and Akureyri, and we look forward to meeting even more prospective students there.

Open classes were also offered in all departments, giving prospective students the opportunity to dip their toes into different study programmes. In addition, RU’s Student Counselling service offered a lecture on choosing a university programme.

All universities in Iceland participate in the University Day to showcase the diverse range of study programmes available in the country. University of Akureyri, Bifröst University and Iceland University of the Arts also presented their studies at Reykjavík University.
