RU students enjoy International Day

There was a lively, festive atmosphere at Reykjavík University during International Day. The focus was on introducing student exchange opportunities, postgraduate studies abroad, scholarships, and other international opportunities.

RU International Day is always a fun event.

International exchange students at Reykjavík University also invited Icelandic students to sample dishes from their home countries and provided information about their home universities, which are partner institutions of RU. This gave students an excellent opportunity to gain firsthand insights and get to know the diverse group of international students studying at the university.

There is a strong sense of ambition among the participants when it comes to decorating their booth.

International Day is always something we greatly look forward to, and it attracts a large number of guests from both the student body and staff at Reykjavík University. There is a strong sense of ambition among the participants when it comes to decorating their booths—we see suitcases, LEGO bricks, bicycles, Chinese masks, feather fans, and, of course, we can’t forget all the delicious international snacks. International Day is without a doubt the most colourful event at RU.

Says Guðlaug Matthildur Jakobsdóttir, Director of the International Office at Reykjavík University.

The International Day was organised by the International Office at RU and served as the highlight of International Week, during which various opportunities to study abroad were introduced to students.

The role of the International Office at Reykjavík University includes encouraging and supporting students and staff who wish to gain international experience through their studies or professional work—whether going abroad or coming to Iceland for shorter or longer periods.
