Strong Interest in the Future of Engineering Studies in North Iceland

Around 60 participants gathered in Akureyri this week for a lively discussion on strengthening engineering education in North Iceland. The event, hosted by the University of Akureyri and Reykjavík University in partnership with Akureyri Municipality and SSNE, focused on opportunities to expand and develop technical studies in the region.

Dr Ragnhildur Helgadóttir, President of RU and Dr Áslaug, Rector of HA, led the discussion, alongside programme leaders who presented the Industrial and Energy Engineering programme delivered jointly by the two universities.

The meeting is part of a continuing effort to build stronger ties between academia and industry, ensuring students gain both high-quality education and opportunities to collaborate with local companies.
