RU – students receive awards at Gulleggið
RU students received two awards at Gulleggið, the biggest entrepreneurial competition in the country. The final competition of Gulleggið took place last Friday, February 14. The competition was held in Gróska where the contestants presented their innovative ideas and impressed the audience and judges.
In first place was Sagareg, which simplifies the creation of application documents (dossiers) for the marketing authorization of medicines with artificial intelligence and specialized software, and in second place What now? Which is a comprehensive service that simplifies the process following the death of a loved one.
Samvís, consisting of RU students, was awarded third place in the competition and aims to develop a new generation of search engines for researchers and students using artificial intelligence technology. The solution facilitates access to research and creates a bridge between science and society. Samvís was also chosen as the university team representing Iceland in Athens at an international entrepreneurship competition offered by JA Iceland.
The Samvís contestants are Birgir Bragi Gunnthórsson, Einir Sturla Arinbjarnarson, Haukur Ingi Sigrúnar Jónsson and Jóhann Tómas Portal.
Planda received a special award from sponsors for a solution that makes it easier for groups of friends to organize get-togethers. The sponsor this time was Coca-Cola in Iceland. The team consist of RU students Brynja Rún Sævarsdóttir, Anna Lilja Sigurðardóttir, Rakel Hrönn Sveinsdóttir and Björk Gunnarsdóttir.
