Ensure you meet both the general university admission requirements and the individual programme requirements for your chosen programme.
Please note that all applications require supporting materials to be submitted along with the completed application form. Incomplete applications will not be assessed. Reykjavik University initially accepts scanned documents for admission assessment, which can be uploaded to the application form, but original copies must be submitted to receive an unconditional offer. You do not need to supply original transcripts until specifically requested. For assistance with applying, please contact admissions@ru.is
Tuition Fees
Tuition Fee for 2025-2026
- EU/EFTA Citizens: 655,000 ISK per semester (approximately 4,520 EUR*)
- Non-EU/EFTA Citizens: 1,206,000 ISK per semester (approximately 8,322 EUR*)
*All fees are billed in Icelandic Krona (ISK). EUR amounts are approximate and may vary due to exchange rate fluctuations.
Visa & Travel Information
All citizens (except Nordic) who come to Iceland for the purpose of study need a residence permit if staying longer than three months. Depending on the country of origin, the residence permit needs to be obtained before or after your arrival.
Scholarships & Financial Aid
ISE provides a range of scholarships to support your studies in sustainable energy. We also guide you towards external financial aid options that may be available.
- Automatic Consideration: Scholarships are automatically considered with your application.
- Notification: Scholarship details are provided in your acceptance letter.
Important Note for International Students
- Student Loans: International students are not eligible for Icelandic student loans. Students seeking loans should consider securing a student loan from their home country before arrival.
