Submission of Abstract

Accommodation

We have reserved for the conference 30 rooms at the Hotel Fron (located in the center of Reykjavik) and 18 rooms in the Capital-Inn, previously known as the Guesthouse Duna (located very close to the conference venue and to the largest shopping mall in Reykjavik (0.8 km) but not so close to the center (about 3.3 km away); however, the rooms here do not have private bathrooms).

Both reservations are from May 25 to May 31 but those who book a room well in advance should have a chance to extend their reservation. We reserved 15 single rooms and 15 double rooms in Hotel Fron and 6 single rooms and 12 double rooms in Capital-Inn.

When making a reservation, the participants should refer to the conference and to Reykjavik University to get 25% discount at Hotel Fron and a 20% discount at Capital-Inn. The rate WITH discount is 12.670 ISK per single and 14.925 per double room at Hotel Fron. The rate WITHOUT discount is 49 Euros per single and 69 Euros per double/Twin room at Capital-Inn. Breakfast IS included in both rates. (Currently 1 EUR is roughly 180 ISK, $1 is 124 ISK, and 1 GBP is about 205 ISK; for an update one can consult, for instance, the following page, to get the current exchange rate).

In addition, the conference benefits from the Conference Support Program run by Hotels Combined (a leading price comparison system aggregating and comparing accommodation options from all major sources such as Expedia.com, Hotels.com, Priceline.com and many more) that offers 10% discount to all attendees of NORCOM 2010. In the space below we shall maintain a list of people who would like to attend the conference and are looking for a room-mate to share accommodation costs with. If you would like to be on this list, please send an email to Sergey Kitaev at sergey@ru.is with subject “ROOM-MATE LIST NORCOM 2010” providing your name in the body of the message. People on the list are then requested to contact each other directly and make a joint hotel booking; when they find a room-mate, please email to Sergey Kitaev at sergey@ru.is again and we shall remove you from the list.
