Þórdís Ingadóttir er prófessor við lagadeild Háskólans í Reykjavík.
Þórdís er menntuð við Háskóla íslands (Cand juris), New York University (LLM) og Háskólann í Helsinki (LLD).
Hún hefur gegnt fjölda trúnaðarstarfa fyrir stjórnvöld, háskóla og félagasamtök. Má þar nefna setu í stjórn Íslenskra orkurannsókna (formaður), bankaráði Landsbankans hf., Dómstólaráði, Endurupptökunefnd, valnefnd Bankasýslu ríkisins (formaður), Siðanefnd Landbúnaðarháskóla Íslands (formaður), Siðanefnd Háskólans á Bifröst (formaður), stjórn Vísindafélags Íslands, sérfræðinefndum Evrópuráðsins og stjórn Landssamtaka Þroskahjálpar.
Þórdís er gift Dr. Snorra Þorgeiri Ingvarssyni prófessor í eðlisfræði við Háskóla Íslands og eiga þau þrjú börn.
